The lemon harvest has begun in Adana, with 'Mayer' variety lemons, which last year found buyers at 1 TL per kilo, now being sold at 20 TL, and 'Enterdonat' variety lemons, which last year were bought at 5 TL per kilo, now being sold at 30-35 TL. Following the Citrus Fruit Cutting and Export Dates Determination Commission's permission for the harvest of Mayer and Enterdonat variety lemons as of September 25, the lemon season officially began in the Çukurova region. Workers entering the orchards for the harvest, which is in demand from across the country and Europe, performed their first harvests accompanied by songs.
