In the early months of 2023, Kazakhstan experienced a significant increase in the price index for its agricultural products, with an overall rise of 5.4% compared to the same period in 2022. This surge was largely due to the price hike in grain crops, with the exception of durum wheat and buckwheat, which saw price decreases. The price indices for wheat (excluding durum), barley, corn, and rye were 106.4%, 110.8%, 115.4%, and 102.9% respectively. Feed grains experienced an 11.8% increase in price, while the price of corn for silage remained stable. The most notable price increases were observed in the East Kazakhstan and Karaganda regions, while the least significant increases were in Kostanay and Akmola regions.
