Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov informed about the ongoing work to prepare for the 2026 sowing season, reports Agrosektor.kz with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In general, according to him, next year the program of diversification of sowing areas will continue with an emphasis on expanding the areas of high-profit crops and reducing the sowing of water-intensive crops.
"Starting next year, control over diversification indicators will be tightened. In this regard, I ask the regions to already conduct explanatory work among farmers and to pre-work out the structure of sowing for the next season. Akimats also need to start checking seed material for sowing qualities now," emphasized Saparov.
According to operational data from the regional akimats, the need for seeds for next year is 2.3 million tons, of which 2.2 million tons have been sown, or 96% of the need.
