In 2023, Kazakhstan experienced a 10.1% increase in the production of fresh or chilled meat, totaling 80.2 thousand tons. Beef was the most consumed meat at 18.33 kg per capita, followed by horsemeat at 4.88 kg. However, there was a decrease in the consumption of lamb and pork by 4% and 2.5% respectively. The start of 2024 saw an increase in meat prices, with beef experiencing the highest annual increase of 8.7%, particularly in the regions of Almaty, Atyrau, and Ulytau.
