In Kazakhstan, the production of fresh and chilled meat increased by 39% over the month

Production of fresh or chilled meat from cattle (cattle), pigs, sheep, goats, horses and equines in January-December 2023 reached 80.2 thousand tons - 10.1% more than in the same period in 2022- th. This was reported by analysts from the agency Eneryprom.kz. According to the information, in January of this year, 7.1 thousand tons of fresh or chilled meat were already produced - immediately 39.4% more than in January 2023. As noted, the most popular meat among Kazakhstanis is beef: its consumption amounted to 18.33 kg on average per capita for January-September 2023 - 3.2% more than for the same period in 2022. Horsemeat comes next: 4.88 kg on average per capita, an increase of 11.7% over the year. Lamb consumption, on the contrary, decreased by 4% over the year, amounting to 4.02 kg on average per capita for January-September last year.
