Through an agreement between the Ministry of Agrarian Development of Buenos Aires and the biotechnology company Biofábrica Misiones S.A., the town of Miramar will have its own laboratory specialized in the propagation of kiwi plants, using in vitro cultivation techniques. The phytolab, as this custom-designed mobile facility is known, represents a key input for the production of this fruit, which is mainly obtained in the southeast of Buenos Aires, particularly in the districts of General Alvarado, Balcarce, General Madariaga, Mar Chiquita, Necochea, Lobería, San Cayetano, Tres Arroyos, and General Pueyrredón. “The agreement includes the provision of equipment, technology, and specialized know-how by Biofábrica, aimed at the installation and commissioning of a brand-new, L-shaped phytolab, designed and developed specifically to meet the operational, productive, and infrastructure needs of the client,” indicated Leonardo Morzán, president of Biofábrica, a majority state-owned ...
