In Moldova, prices for blackberries are falling, despite the good quality of berries

Like other berries, blackberries appeared on the Moldovan market this season two weeks later than usual - only at the beginning of July. At the same time, unlike last year's situation, the quality of blackberries from the start of sales was quite high: large, but sweet berries prevailed. This is probably why the starting wholesale price for blackberries was 45-50 lei / kg ($ 2.76 / kg), about 5 lei / kg higher than last year. However, already a week after the start of sales, the price of blackberries dropped to an average of 40-45 lei / kg ($ 2.21-2.48 / kg). That is, to the level at which the price of this berry was kept in June-July 2020, for most of the last season.
