In Poland this year, a 3% smaller vegetable crop and a 7% smaller potato crop were grown. This is reported by the Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS). It is noted that the area of potato crops in the country in 2023 is estimated at approximately 0.2 million hectares. The yield was 296 t/ha, which is 4% less than last year. The potato harvest is estimated at approximately 5.6 million tons, which is 7% less than last year's harvest. The total production of field vegetables (early and late) is estimated at more than 3.8 million tons, that is, 3% less than last year. This year's cabbage harvest amounted to about 632,000 tons, that is, 2% less than in 2022. Onion production is at the level of 636,000 tons, 2% less than in the previous year. Carrot harvest decreased by 7% to 578,000 tons. At the same time, beet production increased by 7% to almost 259,000 tons.
