In 2024, the level of sugar consumption was 43 kg, and for fruits and berries, it was 85 kg per capita. The volume of sugar consumption (including confectionery products converted to it) in the Primorsky Krai in 2024 amounted to 43 kg per capita, remaining at the level of 2023. This is evidenced by the recently published data from Rosstat on the consumption of basic food products by the population of the Russian Federation. If compared to the level of 2020, sugar consumption in Primorye increased by 4.9%, or 2 kg. Incidentally, the regional indicator for 2024 was 19.4% higher than the average for the Far Eastern Federal District (36 kg) and became the highest in the district. It was also 10.3% higher than the all-Russian figure (39 kg). The least sugar in the Far Eastern Federal District was consumed in the Republic of Buryatia—27 kg.
