The perception of domestic wine as a product is changing in Russia. This was stated by Andrey Reut, the first deputy director of the "Roscongress" Foundation, in an interview with "Business FM".

"Russian wine is now showing growth, perhaps it is one of the fastest-growing industries. The main thing is that the awareness and perception of Russian wine as a product are changing before our eyes," he emphasized and added that now there is noticeably more Russian wine on store shelves.

According to Reut, a turning point among winemakers has occurred in the last five years: "Mass production has emerged, popularity has emerged, import substitution has emerged, and a legislative base has also emerged. Because exactly five years ago, the law 'On Viticulture and Winemaking' was adopted, which allowed Russian wine to be protected as Russian wine, not made from imported wine materials as it was before. And after that, very serious growth began."
