In Russia, the wholesale cost of herring has decreased.

Over the week, prices have decreased by 4.2–12.1%, and over the year by 11.5–32.7%. The average cost of Atlantic herring in the Northwest of Russia on November 10, 2025, was 138 RUB/kg, dropping by 12.1% over the week, while for Pacific herring in the Far East, the decrease was 4.2%, to 115 RUB/kg, according to data from FGUP "Natsrybresurs." Over the month, the figures fell by 14.8% and 4.2%, respectively. On an annual basis, the prices also decreased: for Atlantic herring by 32.7%, and for Pacific herring by 11.5%. Natsrybresurs links the decrease in wholesale prices in the fishing regions to the increase in supplies and the formation of warehouse stocks. Rossrybolovstvo told Kommersant that as of November 10, 547.3 thousand tons of herring had been caught in Russia. Compared to the previous year, the figure increased by 31.9%.
