During the 2023/24 marketing year, Ukraine emerged as a significant exporter of sugar, with a total of 691.8 thousand tons shipped primarily to the European Union (EU), accounting for 77% of its sugar exports. The EU's main ports of call included Italy (19%), Bulgaria (18%), and Hungary (14%). Beyond the EU, Ukraine found trade partners in Cameroon (17% of global exports), Libya (15%), and Turkey (11%). This data highlights the important role of the EU as a consumer of Ukrainian sugar and the diversity of its export markets.
