According to market sources, FCA Oslo market assessment prices are roughly as follows: 4-5kg specifications increased by NOK 2/kg to NOK 64/kg, 6-7kg increased by NOK 6/kg to NOK 73/kg, and 2-3kg decreased by NOK 2.5/kg to NOK 52/kg.
In the US market, Norwegian fish fillet prices rose in week 28, with 4-5 lb Trim-D fillets increasing by $0.30/lb. The market became active again after the US Independence Day holiday, with relatively tight supply. Norwegian fresh whole fish prices showed a similar upward trend, while frozen whole fish prices remained stable. US frozen inventories are abundant, and buyers are cautious about further restocking.
On the other hand, Chilean salmon prices in the US market declined in week 28, with various Trim-D fresh fillet specifications dropping by $0.20-$0.25/lb. US wholesalers noted that increased Chilean salmon supply in the US market led to the price decline.
Finally, Scottish salmon market conditions remained largely unchanged from the previous week, with 2-3kg standard quality headed and gutted products exported to France maintaining a price of €7.20/kg, and red label products at €7.90/kg, showing little change compared to early June.
