From September 2024 to August 2025, the volume of external shipments of Kazakh barley amounted to 1.82 million tons, which is twice the figures of the same period last season (+952.6 thousand tons), reports the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. As noted by the agricultural department, the growth in export shipments was driven by: • a high barley harvest of 3.84 million tons; • increased demand for Kazakh grain from Iran and China; • competitive pricing. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, 1.064 million tons were exported to Iran (an increase of almost 30 times compared to the previous season), 414.4 thousand tons to China, and 125.2 thousand tons to Uzbekistan.
