In the first half of this year, China increased its chocolate imports from Russia by 3.4%, amounting to $10.192 million compared to $9.858 million in the same period last year. Overall, China's chocolate imports rose to $217.7 million from $211.4 million a year earlier. Non-cocoa confectionery imports also grew, with Japan and Malaysia as the largest suppliers. In 2023, China imported $55.459 million worth of chocolate and cocoa products from Russia, a 1.4 times increase from 2022, with physical supplies tripling to 33 thousand tons. The Chinese market is viewed as a rapidly growing and attractive market for Russian chocolate exports, with further growth anticipated due to government support.
