The Tula region has seen a decrease in agricultural imports by 38.8% in volume and 20.2% in value compared to the previous year, totaling 69.2 thousand tons worth $82.5 million from countries like Indonesia, France, and Hungary over the first half of 2020. The imports consisted of 29.3% fats and oils, 28.5% edible fruits and nuts, 21.1% animal products, and 5.1% vegetables. Indonesia and Malaysia were the main suppliers of fats and oils, which were predominantly palm oil. Argentina led the exports of edible fruits and nuts, particularly citrus fruits. France and Hungary were the largest contributors to the animal product imports, which included bird eggs. The imports also included vegetables from Egypt, Belarus, and China, with a majority being frozen vegetables.
