This agricultural year turned out to be more productive than the previous one. According to data from the Agro-Industrial Complex Department of the Kostroma region as of November 13, the harvesting of grains and legumes in the region has been completed. The work was carried out on an area of 22.7 thousand hectares, including 2.6 thousand hectares for fodder purposes. Harvesting was conducted in 72 farms. A total of 48.4 thousand tons of grain was harvested, which is 12% higher than last year's figure. The average yield of grains amounted to 24.2 centners per hectare—this is 11% more compared to the previous year's level (21.8 centners per hectare). The largest share in the gross harvest is held by barley—27.1% of the total volume (13.1 thousand tons), oats—25.6% (12.4 thousand tons), and spring wheat—22.3% (10.8 thousand tons).
