The Lipetsk region in Russia has seen a significant increase in the cultivation of oilseeds, with the planted area expanding from 48.3 thousand hectares in 2000 to 375.8 thousand hectares in 2021. The yield per hectare has also increased, reaching 23 c/ha in 2020. The growth in oilseed production is attributed to increased demand for processing products. The region plans to cultivate about 800 thousand tons of oilseeds in 2022. There will be new oilseed processing plants commissioned in the Lipetsk, Kursk, and Oryol regions. The area dedicated to soybean cultivation has grown significantly, and there is interest in growing oilseed flax, a new crop in the region. Russia aims to allocate 1 million hectares for flax in 2022.
