This is 3.6% more than last year Spring sowing has been completed in the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, as planned, it was held on an area of 621.9 thousand hectares, which is 3.6% more than last year. Including 427.0 thousand hectares are occupied with grain and leguminous crops - 0.9% more than the planned area and 0.5% more than in 2022. In particular, the area under wheat has been increased to 162.0 thousand hectares, which is 3.9% higher than the forecast figure and 1.3% higher than last year. Agrarians of the region sowed 150.6 thousand hectares with barley, 7.4 thousand hectares with corn for grain. Nizhny Novgorod farms placed rapeseed on an area of 13.3 thousand hectares, sunflower for grain - on 4.9 thousand hectares.
