Dry weather in Ukraine this week has allowed farmers to increase the pace of harvesting late crops. Sunflower yield is 10% lower than last year, while the yield of other crops is within the range of last season. According to the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, as of October 16, Ukraine has harvested 34.739 million tons of cereals and legumes from 7.98 million hectares (70% of the planned area) with an average yield of 4.35 tons per hectare, while last year as of October 17, 42.806 million tons of cereals and legumes were harvested from 9.428 million hectares or 85% of the area with an average yield of 4.54 tons per hectare.
