In Ukrainian greenhouse farms, the price of tomatoes has started to rise this week. This is reported by EastFruit. Producers have increased the selling prices due to a decrease in supply on the market, while demand remains steadily high. According to the producers, the volumes of vegetable collection in greenhouses have decreased due to the cool weather that has settled across the country. Currently, greenhouse tomatoes are being sold at a price of 50–60 UAH/kg, which is on average 51% more expensive than at the end of last week. The limited supply of products is explained by the fact that most small producers have almost completed their sales and are offering tomatoes only in small wholesale lots, often of not very high quality. Permanent greenhouses also produce small volumes, so the plants are releasing tomatoes in small batches.
