In September, Ukraine processed the maximum monthly volume of rapeseed (slightly over 250 thousand tons - an estimate by APK-Inform) - for the first time in a long time, domestic processing exceeded the monthly export of this crop (236 thousand tons).
At the same time, at the end of September - beginning of October, the sector saw a slowdown in trading due to the expected decision regarding the mechanism for exempting soybean and rapeseed producers from the 10% export duty. Against this backdrop, the supply of rapeseed decreased.
A number of processors reported low intake of rapeseed at enterprises and the likely completion of its processing and transition to sunflower, stocks of which were successfully accumulated in September. Nevertheless, plants increased prices for rapeseed demand, trying to attract more supply, up to 23,000-23,500 UAH/ton SRT and higher for real volumes and large batches.
