In Ukraine, the livestock sector has shown positive growth with a reported 3% increase in pig numbers and a 2.2% rise in poultry across all farm categories, as highlighted by Olena Dadus from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy. This growth is particularly notable in agricultural enterprises, significantly contributing to the country's near self-sufficiency in livestock products. Despite a minor decline in beef consumption, there is an expected increase in demand for pork and poultry, which are the most affordable types of meat. Poultry meat production has notably increased by 5.8%, enhancing exports, whereas pork and beef production have seen a decline. This surge in local meat production has resulted in reduced meat imports and boosted exports, establishing significant trade relationships with various countries.
