In Ukraine, raising cattle is becoming increasingly profitable—high prices for beef in 2024–2025 have become a powerful incentive for farmers. This is stated in a special project by Latifundist.com. However, experts warn: due to active sales of livestock, the rate of reduction in cattle numbers may significantly increase as early as 2025–2026. According to Oleksandr Nazarko, co-founder of Global Agro Finance, the number of cattle in the industrial sector may nominally remain stable, but the market will experience a greater imbalance: small and medium-sized farmers will exit, while large farms will expand. The key factor remains the price situation in the dairy industry—high feed costs and low milk prices reduce the economic efficiency of farms. Therefore, many farms are forced to sell part of their cows to ensure liquidity.
