In 2020, the sown area for mustard in Ukraine significantly decreased, leading to a reduction in production due to a drought and an increase in supply, alongside a more aggressive pricing strategy from competitors like India and Russia. Despite these challenges, there is stable demand for mustard seeds on the global market, with the European Union accounting for half. The largest buyers were Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Romania, and Greece, contributing to 82% of Ukraine's export revenue. The Ukrainian Agrarian Business Club (UCAB) emphasizes the importance of strategic planning to avoid oversupply and financial losses, while also highlighting the benefits of mustard as a crop due to its profitability and ability to improve crop rotation.
