The pepper market in Ukraine experienced significant changes due to the Russian invasion, with a 38% decrease in the market and a 2 times decrease in imports in 2022. The decrease in production is attributed to population migration and the occupation of food-important territories, leading to an increase in vegetable prices. Despite this, it is estimated that the total pepper harvest in 2023 will exceed the previous year's cultivation by 20%, with expansion of pepper sown areas in certain regions.
