Increase in volume expected for French leek production

The national production of leeks in France is expected to increase by 3% for the 2023/24 campaign compared to the previous year, but it is still 4% lower than the average of the previous five years. The areas planted with leeks will also see a slight increase of 1% compared to the previous campaign, but a decrease of 2% compared to the average of the last five campaigns. The main producing regions in France have varying results, with the North region seeing a 24% increase in production, the West region seeing a 2% increase, the South East region seeing an 11% increase, and the Central West region experiencing a 9% decrease in production.
