The Indian government has extended the duty-free import of yellow peas until February 2025, as part of efforts to stabilize prices and address shortage in the domestic pulses market. The extension was announced on the website of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and extends the existing import conditions for yellow peas from December 31, 2024, to February 28, 2025. This extension is part of a series that has seen the duty-free import of yellow peas being extended regularly since December 2023, with over 2.2 million tonnes of yellow peas imported during the period from December 2023 to September 2024.
