The Indian Ministry of Finance has significantly reduced tariffs on blueberries, turkey meat, and cotton from February 20, 2024. The tariff on fresh, frozen, and dried blueberries and cranberries has been cut from 30% to 10%, while canned or prepared cranberries and blueberries will now have a tariff of 5% and 10% respectively. This move is anticipated to boost Chilean blueberry exports to India, a crucial market for Chilean exports. In the 2022-2023 season, Chile exported nearly 30 thousand tons of fresh fruits to India, with blueberries ranking as the fifth most exported fruit.
