India is the world's leading lemon producer, having grown 3.48 million tons in a year, as per the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization. Mexico and China follow in second and third place with 2.7 million and 2.66 million tons respectively. The top five lemon-producing countries are Argentina, Brazil, Turkey, Spain, and the United States. Mexico, Spain, Turkey, South Africa, and Argentina are the main exporters, with the Netherlands, the United States, Brazil, Egypt, and Chile making up the rest of the top ten. The United States is the largest importer of lemons, followed by the Netherlands and Russia.
