Indian rice export prices have reached a 17-month low due to a weakening rupee and subdued demand in key markets during the holiday season. Prices for India's 5% broken parboiled and white rice varieties have both seen a decrease. Similarly, rice prices in Thailand and Vietnam have also fallen due to slower trading. In contrast, soybean, wheat, and corn futures have all seen an increase on the Chicago Board of Trade due to concerns about dry weather in Argentina and a fire at a Bunge Global soybean processing plant in Illinois. Finally, global coffee prices have sharply decreased due to many countries being on holiday during the peak harvest period.
