India has seen a significant increase in its coffee exports in the first half of the current fiscal year, with a 55% rise to Rs 77.7 billion (US$ 932.6 million) from the same period last year. The country exported 220,000 tonnes of coffee, a 15% increase from the previous year, at an average price of Rs 352 (US$ 4.19) per kg. Italy is the leading importer of Indian coffee beans, followed by Germany, Russia, the UAE, and Belgium. Karnataka is the primary producer of India's coffee, contributing approximately 70% of the production, with Kerala and Tamil Nadu accounting for 20% and 5.7%, respectively.
