According to the Central Statistics Bureau (BPS), national dry grain production (14% moisture content) could reach 16.55 million tonnes, up 1.41 million tonnes (9.34%) from the same period in 2024. BPS forecasts potential corn harvesting area in 2025 to increase to 2.79 million hectares, a 9.4% increase year-on-year. In the third sub-round (September-December), harvesting area is expected to reach 810,000 hectares, up 3.27% year-on-year, with production reaching 5.13 million tonnes, approximately 0.3% higher than in 2024. The agency clarifies that the estimates include corn harvested early or used for feed.
