REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Head of Indonesia's Quarantine Agency (Barantin), Sahat Manaor Panggabean, stated that China has officially opened access for frozen durian exports from Indonesia.

Sahat said that together with the Minister of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC), Sun Meijin, they have agreed to sign the protocol document for frozen durian exports from Indonesia to China.

"The protocol approval coincides with the momentum of Chinese Premier Li Qiang's visit to Indonesia, who was received by President Prabowo at the State Palace in Jakarta on May 25, 2025," Sahat said in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

He stated that the frozen durian export protocol was agreed upon by GACC and entrusts comprehensive oversight to the Indonesia Quarantine Agency.

China has entrusted the Indonesia Quarantine Agency as the authoritative institution in Indonesia that will oversee food safety aspects in an integrated manner with guarantees for plant-origin product health.
