PT Perikanan Indonesia (Persero), or Perindo, is taking over the absorption of fishermen's catches across Indonesia, in line with the Government Regulation No. 99 of 2021. Between January and August 2024, the company has already absorbed 4,680 tons of catches, valued at IDR 107 billion from 1,305 fishing partners. The absorbed fish are then processed and marketed domestically and internationally. Perindo is seeking support from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries to become an aggregator in the Measured Fishing program and plans to obtain fishing quotas through collaborations with fishing partners, investor partners, or by using company-owned vessels. This initiative aims to involve more fishermen and ensure a stable fish supply throughout Indonesia.
