Using embryo transfer techniques, the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA) achieved the birth of 11 purebred goat offspring with high genetic quality of the Murciano Granadina and Saanen breeds, in the city of Huaral, Lima region. These include 10 Murciano Granadina kids (6 males and 4 females) and 1 Saanen male kid. These specimens, obtained from elite dairy breed genetic material, exhibit outstanding purity and productivity characteristics, with great potential for producing high-quality milk intended for competitive dairy products. The Murciano Granadina breed is notable for its milk with a high content of solids (fat and protein), ideal for aged cheeses and high-value butter, while the Saanen breed is characterized by its high production volume and adaptability to mechanical milking, being key for dairy industrialization.
