A new type of calf, called F1, has been born at the Donoso Agrarian Experimental Station in Huaral, Peru, thanks to embryo transfer promotion by the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA). The F1 calf is a result of crossing the Gyr and New Zealand Holstein breeds, bringing together characteristics such as resistance to high temperatures and tropical diseases, good meat quality, and the ability to produce milk with high levels of nutrients and total solids. This combination is expected to enhance the economic profitability for producers.
