Insurance reserves for rice crop damage from ABIC, farmers can produce with peace of mind

On October 27, in An Phu commune (An Giang province), the Department of Rural Economic Cooperation and Development (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) in coordination with Agribank, Agricultural Bank Insurance Joint Stock Company (ABIC), and the German International Cooperation Organization (GIZ) organized a roundtable discussion on "Challenges and solutions for rice crop damage insurance in the Mekong Delta." Here, ABIC compensated 5 households of Phu An Huong Cooperative (An Phu commune) with a total of nearly 62 million VND for rice damaged by heavy rain and flooding in recent days. Earlier, from May 27-28, ABIC in collaboration with GIZ piloted rice crop damage insurance in 11 agricultural cooperatives in An Giang province.
