South Korea's Jeonnam Province, which accounts for 78% of the country's seaweed production, is implementing a quality control system for its dried seaweed. The initiative is part of a project aimed at achieving $300 million in seaweed exports. The new system will include quality and hygiene management equipment, a seaweed quality inspection and self-grading system, and the appointment of seaweed quality inspectors. The province's goal is to establish an eco-friendly seaweed production base and enhance seaweed quality and hygiene management capabilities.
