The India Pulses and Grains Association (IPGA) hosted a webinar on Desi and Kabuli Chickpeas, which was attended by over 850 participants from 25 countries. The webinar covered various topics including chickpeas production, NAFED’s procurement policies, the impact of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana on chana distribution, global and Indian price outlooks, supply and demand trends, and India’s import policy and tariff. The webinar also discussed the current stock position of pulses with NAFED and the domestic and international outlooks for desi chickpeas and Kabuli chickpeas. The IPGA aims to boost production, processing, value addition, consumption, and trade in pulses to make Indian pulses globally competitive.
