Iran's State Agency for Livestock Feed Imports (SLAL) purchased 120,000 tons of feed barley in a tender from the EU, Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan for delivery in December-January. Half of the barley, 60,000 tons, was bought from Russia and Kazakhstan for delivery in small shiploads from the Caspian Sea ports. The purchase price was not disclosed, and Iran is reportedly paying for the grain through banks in Turkey and Iraq.
