Despite facing international trade sanctions, Iran has seen a rise in its seafood exports, which reached $228 million in the nine months ending December 2023. This includes 102,352 tons of fishery products, thanks to the growth of the country's aquaculture industry and innovative policies to mitigate the impact of sanctions. While Southeast Asian countries remain the main buyers, there has been a notable increase in shrimp exports to Russia. However, sales to China and the UAE have seen a slowdown.
