The General Administration of Customs of China has approved the import of Iranian fresh citrus fruits, including oranges, tangerines, and sweet lemons, subject to specific conditions. These conditions include inspection and approval by the Ministry of Agriculture of Iran and the General Administration of Customs of China. The citrus must also undergo cold treatment to prevent quarantine pests. This is a significant development for Iran, which is seeking to increase its trade income following US sanctions on crude oil exports. The country's citrus output is currently about 5.5 million tons annually, with export destinations including Azerbaijan, Armenia, UAE, Qatar, and Kazakhstan.
