The Tehran Fruit and Vegetable Traders Union is planning to export over 2 million tons of fruit in the current Iranian year, with the total production expected to be 4.5 million tons. The union aims to export to countries such as Russia, Iraq, Armenia, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The national consumption of citrus in Iran is approximately 1.5 million tons per year, leaving room for export potential. The export value of agricultural products from Iran increased by 9% in the first four months of the Iranian calendar compared to the previous year, with over 2.5 million tons of agricultural products worth over USD1,700 million being shipped. The main exported products included tomatoes, pistachios, watermelons, tomato paste, cheese, apples, melons, date potatoes, and various sweets, with Iraq, China, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates being the main export destinations.
