Iran has experienced a significant increase in its fishery exports, with a 24% rise in value in the first five months of this year compared to the same period last year, reaching a value of $138 million from 68,000 tons of fishery products. The country's fishery exports exceeded $310 million in the last Iranian calendar year, with shrimp making up 32% of these exports. The United Arab Emirates, China, and Russia were the main destinations for these exports. The growth in the aquaculture industry has been facilitated by collaborations for creating a value chain for caged fish farming in the Caspian Sea region, and the production of a nanobubble generating machine that improves productivity in fish farming ponds, reducing electricity consumption by 70% and improving water quality.
