The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) issued a warning regarding public statements about rising meat prices, cautioning that such forecasts could influence market participants to increase prices and create rush demand from consumers. FAS reminded companies of the prohibition on coordinating actions that could establish or maintain prices, and promised to take antimonopoly measures against any detected illegal behavior or economically unjustified prices. AKKOR President Vladimir Plotnikov countered the allegations, stating that the information about a possible increase in pork prices was not accurate, as prices at the wholesale level were stable and even decreasing, with the growth rate compensating for any losses caused by outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF).
