The International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF) has praised the outcomes of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) meeting, which it believes has led to significant progress for Atlantic Ocean tuna fisheries. The ICCAT meeting saw the adoption of a new tropical tuna management measure and a management procedure for western Atlantic skipjack tuna. However, the ISSF has highlighted that more needs to be done to address the issue of yellowfin catch exceeding the total allowable catch. Additionally, the commission's decision to strengthen its regulation of at-sea transshipment has been applauded by the ISSF.
