Over the last year, among the agricultural products imported to Ukraine, fruits and nuts accounted for the largest share of 10.5%. Senior researcher of the Department of Economics of Agrarian Production and International Integration of the "Institute of Agrarian Economics" Bohdan Dukhnytskyi told about this. The greatest demand among fruit and berry products in our country is traditionally enjoyed by citrus fruits and bananas, which in 2022 formed 60% of the value of its imports. Last year, a decrease in foreign purchases in monetary terms was recorded for all commodity items, with the exception of watermelons and melons, Bohdan Dukhnytskyi said. Ukraine mainly imported bananas, citrus fruits, pineapples, avocados, stone fruits, grapes, kiwi and persimmons. In 2022, the import of fruits and nuts reached $663 million.
