In 2023, Turkey's tomato exports increased by 42.8 percent from the previous year to reach 538 million 724 thousand dollars, according to data from the Southeastern Anatolia Exporters' Association. Turkey exported 588 thousand 418 tons of tomatoes to 52 countries, with Romania being the top importer, followed by Ukraine, Poland, Germany, and Russia. Halil Pekdemir attributed the growth in exports to government support for greenhouse projects and thanked President Erdoğan and relevant ministers for their continued support.
