The European poultry sector is expected to have a strong year with increased production and exports, as reported by both the European Commission and the USDA. There could be a record set for poultry meat in Europe, with a 4% increase in production and a 3% increase in exports compared to 2023. This growth is due to a milder bird flu season, lower feed costs, and higher crop prices. Hungary has seen a 3% increase in poultry meat exports in the first seven months of 2024. The consumption and exports in the EU are also on the rise, with poultry meat consumption expected to reach 25.2 kg per person in 2025. Global poultry meat exports are also anticipated to increase by 2% in 2025, with the UK being the EU's largest sales market.
