The profitability of corn in Brazil continues to be a challenge, especially in light of the real production costs and the behavior of the international market. According to an analysis by TF Agroeconômica, profitability depends on how the producer considers their costs. If only seeds, inputs, fuel, and interest are taken into account, the estimated cost is R$ 32.00 per sack. However, when all costs are included — as per the DERAL-PR spreadsheet — the value rises to R$ 73.55/sack, revealing a scenario of loss. The consultancy reinforces that "your accountant is your best friend" in this type of evaluation.
